Whether it’s the winter blues or a rough patch, I’ve always learned just the little things can help brighten your day. It will not drastically change your life but will definitely improve your day!

One: Do a good deed for someone
There’s no greater joy than helping someone or paying someone a compliment. Not only does it make that person’s day brighter but will also make you feel great too. It doesn’t have to be major- just pay for someone’s order in front of you at the drive thru or compliment their new hairstyle or outfit!
Two: Treat Yourself
Whether it be your favorite drink, dessert, or meal make sure to treat yourself! I love it when I have my favorite food to look forward to and keep me going throughout the day! I also love treating myself to ‘little luxury’ items such as a candle, makeup, or even this robe I’m wearing. It’s great to have a nice robe so you feel extra glamorous when you get ready in the morning!
Three: Plan Something You Can Look Forward To
This for me is something I try to do once and a while and especially with the dreary winter weather it’s really helpful! I like to plan a day trip or a vacation so I can plan and look forward to it!
Four: Get a Pedicure
I love getting a pedicure because first I take an hour of my day to relax and second, I feel so much more put together!
Five: Wake Up Early
This is not always an easy task but once you do get up early you can have extra time before work etc… and it helps you start your day off right and positive! Also, when I do sleep in I feel way less productive than when I get up bright and early!
Six: Plan Ahead
There’s nothing worse when you’re rushing around trying to get out the door and forget things that will determine the course of your day. It’s unnecessary stress and can sometimes set you in a negative mood especially if you forget something really important. Some tips for this that I find really helpful:
~Plan your outfit the day before
~Prep your meals as much as you can
~Make lists (this helps clear your mind so you don’t stress trying to remember everything)
~Have your purse, keys, coat, and any important items you may need during the day out the night before. I have a little table near my foyer where I place everything so I just grab and go!
Seven: Listen to Music
Music can be so inspiring and take you a new world. When I get ready I have this bluetooth speaker paired with my phone and I listen to upbeat music to get me going and motivated!
Eight: Workout
When I don’t workout I can definitely tell a difference with how I feel. I feel like I have 10x more energy after I do and it makes you feel so much better. I’ve shared my workout routine here if you are interested!
I hope you got a few ideas to start your day on a more positive and brighter note!
