How To Style The Classic White Button Down Shirt

Sometimes the most fabulous and chic looks are quite simple and put together with basics. Worn by Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, it’s an iconic menswear inspired shirt turned feminine. Today I’m sharing how I style the super classy, wardrobe staple button down shirt you can wear out and about or to an upcoming date night outfit.

The first key to pulling off this look is getting the perfect fit white shirt. I found a great selection at Express because they have the best fit and are the perfect cut. They are also not too expensive which is great because well… it’s white after all and won’t look the best after a few seasons. Next is styling with jeans. I love to do the little front tuck which makes it look effortless. I also chose to roll up the sleeves for a relaxed look.

Now I’ve totally been having a red moment and love adding it as a pop of color. I’m wearing these gorgeous red lace up block heels that have a tassel detail which adds a little bit of flirty and fun! I love them because they will be great throughout spring and summer too. And of course, cannot have a pop of red without a bold red lip, however, I wouldn’t recommend wearing this red lip on a first date 😉 Quick tip: the night before (or every night) put on this lip balm and it’s the best prep for smooth lips and flawless application! I’ve been using it for over 5 years!
