Lately, the items I’ve been purchasing the most are items that I can not only wear now but also into Fall. I have 2 key components when picking out clothing that I want to transition from summer to fall: color and silhouette.
First, color is the main thought that runs through my head when I see a cute dress or top. I tend to gravitate towards cream, navy, burgundy, olive, and of course blush (to me, blush is a neutral color!). So when you see any of those colors definitely go for something of those shades and then I look at the silhouette.
Is it able to be layered? If it is then more often than not it would make for a great fall layering piece because to me, Fall is all about layering!! For instance, when I look at this dress it has all the right shades that work great for fall and it also can be layered with a sweater for cooler days. Also, think accessory-wise whether you can pair the item with both sandals OR fall booties! If you can, then I think it’s your best bet to get clothing that transitions well. It’s pretty easy once you think of those two components!
For the first look which is a summer daytime look, I paired it with some scalloped wedges for a summery vibe along with my pink Gucci bag. This blush dress has the prettiest, delicate ditsy floral detail throughout. It has a sheer exterior with a solid shell so you can’t see through it. For sizing, it comes in regular sizing along with petite and tall lengths too. I ordered the XS tall size because this dress tends to run shorter and I also wanted it to work into Fall so the length is perfect!! I’m 5’7″ for reference on the length of the dress. The dress is the slightest bit boxy but I would still order your regular size as that is just the way it’s supposed to look.

Now to transition this look for a cooler Fall day, I paired this dress with a cinch waist cardi. I chose burgundy since I thought it was a nice color to offset the print. Then, I added this hat which is pretty much my go-to hat for Fall– I got a ton of use out of it last Fall and it’s available this year! Then I slipped on these cutout booties that I absolutely adore! I cannot recommend these enough. They are so flattering, comfy, and pretty much go with everything. They are currently on sale under $100 and come in 3 colors.
