I’m very picky when it comes to picking out products for my hair care routine. It’s actually a big deal when I switch a product because when I find something I realllyy like, I stick to it for quite some time.
When it comes to my hair length, it’s ‘mermaid hair don’t care’ all the way! I L O V E long locks right now and I’ve been growing out my hair for a few months right now. Whatever I’m doing must be working since it’s been getting crazy long over the past few months! Today I will be sharing 5 tips for growing healthy, long hair! Stay tuned at the end of this post for a giveaway!
Tip #1: Products are EVERYTHING! You want to pick a product that is made specifically for your hair type/ what you want to achieve.

When I heard about a new product line at Ulta called ShampYou, I was immediately intrigued for what they were about. ShampYou is a completely customizable shampoo/conditioner line where you can create your own personal concoction!
First, you purchase the shampoo scent you would like {Lemon + Verbena} {Mimosa + Jasmine} {Juniper + Mint} {Ylang Ylang + Bergamot} I love the lemon one… it’s soooo good! and then ADD up to two serums (this is where you customize!)
Serum choices: Beautiful Brunette (LOVE!), Turn Up the Volume (I use this too!), Curl Me Up, Thermo Straight, Ravishing Red, Gimme More Moisture, Hi Definition Blonde, Back to your Roots…

Serums (c/o)
After I mix two serums into the shampoo bottle I wash my hair concentrating at the roots, not the ends. The Turn Up the Volume serum works amazing and I definitely can tell a difference!
As far as conditioner, I use this one here as well as this one for a deep conditioning treatment!
Tip #2: Limit HEAT as best as you can! This means heated styling tools AND being out in the sun… all of this does major damage to your hair. I always try to air dry my hair too. Now I’m not gonna lie, I love using this curling iron often. I just love the way it looks styled. I do use a really good heat protector that holds a curl AMAZINGLY! Seriously ladies, this here is my HG product for holding a curl.
Quick tip: While you are out in the sun for long periods of time, make sure to wear a sun hat like this one!
Tip #3: Get haircuts every 2 months or so. Now you are probably thinking, what?! Get a haircut to grow your locks? No way! Actually, yes! If you get a haircut every 2-3 months or so to trim split ends, this will help in the long run, trust me!
Tip #4: Use a good brush. I absolutely love this brush when I have wet hair so it doesn’t break strands. I even use this same brush on dry hair too because it’s so good! Less broken stands = healthier, longer hair
Tip #5: Be PATIENT! There’s no magic product to grow your hair over night! Just be patient as the results will come over time! All these little tricks will definitely help speed the process!
