A midi dress is the perfect dress silhouette as we enter into the cool days of fall… it’s flowy and effortless and is a great piece to use for layering. I found this absolutely darling midi dress with a tie-shoulder detail and ruffle hem. Sometimes when I spot a dress such as this one- so darling with frill and all- and I feel like I don’t have many places to wear it as it is so dressy. Well, I’ve played around with a few pieces in my wardrobe to figure out how to wear this dress during the day whether it’s for running errands or lunching with your besties!

First, the shoe you choose determines whether you are dressing the dress up or down so I decided to go with a velvet tennis shoe. I just love mixing the texture of the chiffon, velvet, and satin– it just flows perfect. And velvet is just SO on trend at the moment so it’s a double win! Also, I mentioned layering and with this dress there are so many ways to layer it- with a cardigan, a military jacket, or a denim jacket! I really like the look of the denim jacket the best as it flows so well with the sneakers. You can wear it regular, draped over your shoulders, or tied around your waist.
