At the beginning of every season, I always get a few key investment pieces that will last and be a staple throughout the season. You really don’t need to invest in every single item you wear because trendy items go in and out of style so fast.
The first wardrobe investment is the sweater dress. Sweater dresses are great because if you want to wear a dress but want to be a little warmer- a thicker, higher quality material will keep you so warm as well as chic! This dress I’m wearing is instantly updated by a blush bow sleeve detail. It also has a belle sleeve detail as well. Once I saw the blush bow, I knew I had to have it. They also have a black on black version as well. The fit of this dress is not boxy but definitely not too fitted either. It kind of just flows over your silhouette. It is true to size. This dress is on the splurge side but if you sign up for their emails, you get 15% or 20% off your order. And they have a free shipping code as well! Just thought I’d let all of you know in case you love Club Monaco just as much as I do. I literally want everything they have!! So feminine & classy.
The next item I suggest investing in is Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. I got a pair in black last year and I lived in them all through fall and winter. They were such a great chic addition to my outfit! This year I got this darker grey color and LOVE them!! The first reason I actually got them was because they were made for a slimmer leg. Many times the less expensive version looked way too baggy and wasn’t real suede so it did not hold up. I cannot recommend these enough and if the price is a little bit out of your budget, they are $100 off today here!! I actually just found this code this morning so I’m excited to share it! Use Code: SAVENOW
Blush Bow Sleeve Sweater Dress // Grey Over-the-knee Boots ($100 off today with code: SAVENOW)
Blush Chloe Drew Bag // Bar Bracelet c/o Baublebar
Blush Earrings c/o Baublebar // Bow Ring (old, Kate Spade)
Last tip I have for buying an investment is to ask yourself these questions…
Here are a few examples:
How many ways can I wear this sweater?
Can these shoes go with pretty much everything?
Does the color of this bag complement more than 75% of my wardrobe?
After those questions I also highly suggest trying on the item and if you cannot make it work with many different outfits, then you have to ask yourself is it really worth the money?
I hope these tips were helpful and this post inspired you to see what pieces I like to invest in at the beginning of this fall season (these will certainly take you through winter as well!)
